WHAT'S NEW AT WHATTOEAT

We ship small and often, and this page keeps you in the loop on the changes you can actually see and use. From new dishes to smarter searches, here is how the app has grown.

Updates from July 2026

  1. v1.25.0

More nearby choices around offices and landmarks

Choosing an office, station, library or similar landmark now looks for food across the nearby walking area instead of only around the building outline.

    • Nearby searches stay within an 800m area
    • Malls and hawker centres keep their tighter venue boundaries
  2. v1.22.2

Group votes start ready to share

Group-vote hosts now add their name and choose the deck before the room opens, while hotels and offices search for food around the location.

    • Hosts reach an invite-ready room without joining twice
    • True venues stay inside their footprint instead of silently widening
  3. v1.21.0

A clearer view of what changed

Updates turns our internal release notes into a short, dated record of the improvements diners can actually see and use.

    • Browse meaningful releases by month
    • See the useful changes without the behind-the-scenes detail
  4. v1.20.0

Halal results now checked against the MUIS directory

Halal mode shows a spot only when its outlet matches a recent copy of the public MUIS directory, with the official listing kept one tap away.

    • Cards say MUIS directory match, not certification guarantee
    • Unconfirmed matches are held back instead of guessed
  5. v1.19.0

Real dish photos and more Singapore areas

Popular dish pages gained credited food photography, while the location picker expanded to Tengah, Bidadari, Woodleigh and Tampines North.

    • Ten dish pages now use licensed, credited photos
    • Growth areas join the practical location picker
  6. v1.18.1

Recent is now Saved, with clearer Deal guidance

The Saved page now describes what is kept on your device and makes the difference between a bookmarked Deal and a claimed coupon clearer.

    • Existing Recent links continue to work
    • Active coupons are protected from accidental removal
  7. v1.18.0

Recommend a spot for future Deals

You can now suggest a restaurant for a future Deal from its details, without interrupting the food-decision flow or contacting the restaurant automatically.

    • One-tap recommendation with an optional reason
    • Saving and claiming a Deal remain separate choices
  8. v1.17.0

Eight heartland favourites join the catalogue

Indian rojak, satay bee hoon, lei cha, nasi ambeng and four more local favourites bring the catalogue to 204 dishes.

    • Local names now lead more dish labels
    • Surprise draws from a wider heartland mix
  9. v1.16.0

Tell us what to improve, right from the homepage

A compact feedback button now makes it easier to report a rough edge or recommend a restaurant while it is fresh in your mind.

    • Send feedback directly from the homepage
    • Sandwich searches now include cafes, sandos and toasties
  10. v1.15.0

    Six one-tap Surprise vibes

Local, Comfort, Healthy-ish, Date night, Treat myself and Desserts now turn a mood into a ready-made five-dish mix.

    • Each vibe starts immediately
    • Halal mode hides vibes that cannot offer enough suitable dishes
  11. v1.12.0

Your recent picks, saved on your device

Finished shortlists and visited group rooms can now be reopened for 14 days, with up-to-date restaurant information when you return.

    • Recent picks stay on your device for 14 days
    • Room winners and finished solo picks are easy to recover
  12. v1.10.0

Type your area, get instant suggestions

The location box now suggests Singapore places as you type, so a selected address, MRT station or landmark resolves cleanly before the search starts.

    • Suggestions are restricted to Singapore
    • Pressing Enter on free text still works as a fallback
  13. v1.9.5

Browse closed spots when planning ahead

Open now is a real switch: turn it off to include currently closed places and plan a later meal without losing their current hours.

    • The default still shows open places only
    • Closed spots are clearly marked before you head down
